Need a Better Night's Sleep?

Those thoughts running through your head late at night don't add to it. Neither does the restlessness that targets your limbs. Whatever the reason that keeps you up at night, the outcome is always the same - waking up the next morning feeling like you just carried a mac-truck three blocks on your back. OK, maybe that’s a stretch, but you feel angry, cranky and just awful.

If you suffer from not catching enough Zzz's, then you are not alone. Its reported by the National Sleep Foundation, that 65% of Americans suffer from sleep problems - I'm more surprised that they have a foundation for this. But in all honestly, not catching sufficient shut eye has been linked increased risk of obesity and depression.

Sleep deprivation is a more common thing nowadays, and if you feel that you need some help battling this, you can always search our long list of sleep doctors in your area here.

Here are a few things that you might want to try before you reach for that sleeping aid pill.

Turn off the Facebook. Social media is amazing, and we all could probably agree, that it rivals the clapper as the best thing since sliced bread; but if your facebooking into the wee hours, that might be one of the causes for your tossing and turning. The brightness of your computer screen stimulates the brain. Shut down your computer and wind down without any electronics.

If you can't sleep, then don't just lay in bed. They say that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over again expecting a different outcome. If you've been lying there for more then 30 minutes and you can't fall asleep, the folks over at the National Sleep Foundation suggest reading or balancing a checkbook - anything that requires marginal brainpower and before you know it you'll be crawling back into bed.

These are just two of many things that might help you combat the sleepless night blues and might help the sandman come visit you in a timelier manner.

Kid Rock Returns to Michigan

Kid Rock, and American singer-songwriter, musician and rapper with five Grammy Award nominations, is returning to his home state of Michigan for a performance at Allegan County Fair in Grand Rapids .

His most recent album, “Born Free,” has sold over one million copies and is the 8th studio album to be recorded. While there is still the edge, wit and swagger of previous albums, he doesn’t rap, there’s no metal nor a parental warning sticker!  Sounds like this tour is appropriate for the entire family!

Most popularly known for songs including “Bawitdaba,” “Cowboy,” “Only God Knows Why,” “All Summer Long,” and “Picture” with Sheryl Crow.

The current members of Kid Rocks band are: Jimmie “Bones” Trombley playing keyboards, piano, organ, harmonica and backup vocals since 1996; Marlon Young, on lead and rhythm guitar, was with Kid Rock in 1996-97 and has returned to the band once again since 2007; Jason Krause as rhythm and lead guitar since 1997; Stefanie Eulinberg on drums, percussion and backing vocals since 1998; Paradime on turntables, programming and keyboards since 2002 and Aaron Julison on bass guitar and backing vocals since 2003.
